KNOBLE, Matthew T., a Representative from Lackawanna County; born in Brooklyn, Kings County, NY, July 29, 1878; graduated, Woods Business College, Scranton; master sergeant, Supply Company, 13th Regiment, United States Army (1916, Mexican Expedition); gasoline and oil salesman; clerk, United States Post Office; president, Abington Republican Club; elected as a Republican to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives in 1938 and 1940; appointed, Committee to Investigate Bureau of Aeronautics (1939-1940); unsuccessful campaign for reelection to the House (1942); oil distributor; died, April 7, 1962 in Clarks Green, Lackawanna County, Pennsylvania; interred, Shady Lane Cemetery, Chinchilla, Lackawanna County, Pennsylvania.
