KANE, Leonard Patrick, a Representative from Allegheny County; born, Pittsburgh, Allegheny County, Pa. on February 16, 1897; graduated, Peabody High School; graduated, Duquesne University, 1917; served, United States Navy (World War I); engaged in the real estate and insurance business; elected to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives as a Republican in 1932; unsuccessful campaign for reelection to the House (1934); appointed, real estate commissioner, Pennsylvania Housing Board (1945); unsuccessful campaign, mayor of Pittsburgh (1953); died on April 16, 1973 in Pittsburgh, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania; interred, Calvary Cemetery, Pittsburgh, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania.
