JONES, John Mendelsohn, Sr., a Representative from Northampton County; born in Wilkes-Barre, Luzerne County, Pa., February 1, 1902; attended La Salle Extension University of Chicago; messenger and accounting clerk, Lehigh Valley Railroad; auditor and delegate, State Conventions for Central Labor Union of Northampton County; elected as a Republican to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1945, 1949 and 1951 terms; not a candidate for reelection to the House for the 1947 term; unsuccessful campaign for reelection to the House for the 1953 term; died, May 4, 1971 in Easton, Northampton County, Pennsylvania; interred, Northampton Memorial Shrine, Palmer Township, Northampton County, Pennsylvania.
