HOYT, Eckley, a Representative from Columbia County; born, February 18, 1884 in New Columbus, Luzerne County, Pa.; graduated, Fishing Creek Township High School; attended, Bloomsburg Literary Institute and Normal School (now Commonwealth University of Pennsylvania); attended, The Pennsylvania State College (now The Pennsylvania State University); school teacher; district manager, Mutual Life Insurance Company; president, Berwick Board of Education; elected as a Republican to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives to the 1939 term; unsuccessful campaign for reelection to the House for the 1941 term; died, May 10, 1960 in Orange Township, Columbia County, Pennsylvania; interred, New Columbus Cemetery, New Columbus, Luzerne County, Pennsylvania.
