HERMAN, Mayer E., a Representative from Philadelphia; born, March 19, 1887 in the Ukraine; attended, Brown College Preparatory School; LL.B., University of Pennsylvania Law School; lawyer; director and attorney, Greater Olney Civic Association; special deputy attorney general, Pennsylvania Attorney General's office (1935-1939); elected as a Democrat to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1941 term and reelected to serve 2 consecutive terms thereafter; unsuccessful campaign for reelection to the House (1946); chief deputy coroner, Philadelphia (1953-1955); Workmen’s Compensation referee, Pennsylvania Department of Labor and Industry, Philadelphia (1955-1956); died, December 14, 1966 in Philadelphia, Philadelphia County, Pennsylvania; interred, Montefiore Cemetery, Jenkintown, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania.
