HEFFERNAN, Dr. James Joseph, a Representative from Philadelphia County; born, September 22, 1866 in Philadelphia, Philadelphia County, Pa.; D.D.S., Pennsylvania College of Dental Surgery, 1891; dentist; treasurer, Millbourne Endowment, Ruby Endowment, and Surface Building and Loan Associations; elected as a Republican to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1915 term and reelected to serve 9 consecutive terms thereafter; unsuccessful campaign for reelection to the House for the 1935 term; died, August 8, 1936 in Philadelphia, Philadelphia County, Pennsylvania; interred, Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Cheltenham Township, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania.
