HARNEY, Thomas Porter, a Representative from Chester County; born in 1893 in Wisconsin; graduated, Marshfield High School; graduated Beloit College; graduated, University of Wisconsin; farmer; auditor and school director; elected as a Republican to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1949 and 1951 terms; elected, Pennsylvania State Senate (1953-1960); appointed, Commission on Interstate Cooperation (1953-1960); died while in office of the Senate, July 17, 1960 in West Chester, Chester County, Pennsylvania; interred, Oaklands Cemetery, West Goshen Township, Chester County, Pennsylvania.
