MIHALICH, Herman, a Representative from Westmoreland County; born in Monessen, Westmoreland County, Pa., August 3, 1930; B.A., administration, University of Pittsburgh, 1953; graduate studies, American History, California State College (now Pennsylvania Western University, California), 1969-1971; A.A.S., real estate sales and management, Westmoreland County Community College, 1972-1973; attended, Institute for Court Management; real estate broker; director, Laurel Highlands Incorporated; assistant director, Bureau of Sale and Use Tax, Pennsylvania Department of Revenue (1955-1959); lobbyist, Pennsylvania Tavern Association (1959-1961); unsuccessful campaign, Pennsylvania State Senate (1960); administrative assistant, United States Congressman John Dent (1961-1965); development director, Fayette County Development Council (1968-1971); executive assistant, Pennsylvania State Representative James Manderino (1977-1989); elected to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives as a Democrat in a Special Election, May 15, 1990; Sworn-In, May 30, 1990 to serve the remaining 1989 term; reelected to 4 more consecutive terms; died while in office, September 30, 1997, in Monessen, Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania; interred, Grandview Cemetery, Monessen, Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania.
