GYGER, Furman Holme, Sr., a Representative from Chester County; born in East Pikeland Township, Chester County, Pa., December 9, 1888; graduated, Kimberton High School; graduated, West Chester Normal School (now West Chester University of Pennsylvania), 1909; master dairy farmer; teacher; auditor, East Pikeland Township (1915-1933); elected as a Republican to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives in 1926; not a candidate for reelection to the House (1928); reelected to the House in 1940 and served 3 consecutive terms thereafter; appointed, Commission to Study the School System (1945-1946); appointed, Joint Legislative Committee on Mental Health Laws (1947-1948); died while in office, June 17, 1948, in Phoenixville, Chester County, Pennsylvania.
