GORMAN, John Leo, a Representative from Philadelphia County; born, August 16, 1890 in Philadelphia, Philadelphia County, Pa.; graduate, Cathedral Parochial School; attended, Drexel College (now Drexel University); engineer, Baldwin Locomotive Works; constable, magistrate's office, Philadelphia; tax collector, Philadelphia; elected as a Republican to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1943 term; unsuccessful campaign for reelection to the House for the 1945 term; reelected to the House for the 1947 term; appointed, Joint Legislative Committee on Alcoholism (1947-1948); not a candidate for reelection to the House for the 1949 term; unsuccessful campaign for reelection to the House (1954); died, August 11, 1965 in Philadelphia, Philadelphia County, Pennsylvania; interred, Holy Cross Cemetery, Yeadon, Delaware County, Pennsylvania.
