GERARD, Anthony J., a Representative from Allegheny County; born, June 13, 1883 in Pittsburgh, Allegheny County, Pa.; attended, St. Michael’s Parochial School; merchant tailor designer; member, council, Mt. Oliver Borough (1929-1932); elected to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives as a Democrat in 1934; reelected to the House in 1936 and 1940; appointed, Joint Legislative Committee Re-Centralizing State Agencies in Philadelphia and Pittsburgh (1937-1938); unsuccessful campaign for reelection to the House (1938, 1942); elected, recorder of deeds, Allegheny County (1944-1947); died, October 25, 1947 in Pittsburgh, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania; interred, Saint John Vianney Cemetery, Carrick, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania.
