FITZGERALD, Norbert James, a Representative from Erie County; born in Erie, Erie County, Pa., February 9, 1897; attended, St. John’s Parochial School and Central High School; freight conductor, New York Central Railroad; railroad editor, Erie Daily Times; elected as a Democrat to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1931 and 1933 terms; not a candidate for reelection to the House for the 1935 term; appointed, Pennsylvania’s Workmen’s Compensation Board (1935-1938); unsuccessful campaign, United States Congress (1938); died in August of 1971 in the city of Niagara, Niagara County, New York; interred, Trinity Cemetery, Erie, Erie County, Pennsylvania.
