FISHER, George Wiestling, a Representative from Huntingdon County; born, May 16, 1871 in Huntingdon, Huntingdon County, Pa.; attended, Huntingdon schools; bakery owner, Fisher’s Bread; caterer; campaign manager, (Governor) John Fisher and (Lt. Governor) George Wharton Pepper (1926); gubernatorial appointee, State Industrial Board (1927-1933); chief burgess, Huntingdon (31 years); chair, Huntingdon County Republican Committee (8 years); elected to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives as a Republican in 1938 and 1940; not a candidate for reelection to the House (1942); died, July 5, 1943 in Huntingdon, Huntingdon County, Pennsylvania; interred, Riverview Cemetery, Huntingdon, Huntingdon County, Pennsylvania.
