FERKO, Joseph Aloysius, a Representative from Philadelphia County; born, April 1, 1895 in Philadelphia, Philadelphia County, Pa.; graduated, South Philadelphia High School; Doctor of Pharmacy, Philadelphia College of Pharmacy; served, United States Naval Reserve; pharmacist; elected as a Republican to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1935 term; not a candidate for reelection to the House (1936); founder, Ferko String Band (1923-1964); died, April 19, 1964 in Philadelphia, Philadelphia County, Pennsylvania; interred, Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Cheltenham Township, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania.
