ELDER, William Henry, a Representative from Lycoming County; born in South Williamsport, Lycoming County, Pa., May 9, 1890; attended, Lycoming County Normal School; served, Battery D, 107th Field Artillery, 28th Division, United States Army (World War I); school teacher; bank director; elected, council, Jersey Shore, Pa. (1931-1935); elected as a Republican to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives to the 1941 term; reelected to the House to serve 4 more consecutive terms; appointed, Joint State Government Sub-Committee on Fish and Game Commissions (1945-1946); appointed, Joint Legislative Committee on the Susquehanna River Fishways (1947-1948); unsuccessful campaign for reelection to the House (1950, 1952); died, June 16, 1957 in Jersey Shore, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania; interred, Wildwood Cemetery, Williamsport, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania.
