DAVIES, Dr. Emlyn T., a Representative from Lackawanna County; born in South Wales, United Kingdom, July 10, 1886; graduated, Scranton High School, 1905; graduated, Mercersburg Academy, 1907; M.D., Jefferson Medical College (now Sidney Kimmel Medical College), 1911; served, United States Army (World War I); physician; elected as a Republican to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives in 1932; reelected to serve 2 more consecutive terms; appointed, Joint Legislative Committee to Revise the Anthracite Mine Laws (1937-1938); not a candidate for reelection to the House (1938); unsuccessful campaign, coroner, Lackawanna County (1939); president, Taylor Hospital (1940-1943); superintendent, Clarks Summit State Hospital (1943-1954); died, September 13, 1963 in Scranton, Lackawanna County, Pennsylvania.
