CURRAN, Thomas A., a Representative from Delaware County; born in Morton, Delaware County, Pa., August 6, 1900; graduated, Swarthmore Public High School, 1918; LL.B., Temple University Law School, 1926; telephone operator (1921-1924); lawyer; elected, solicitor-controller, Delaware County (1930-1934); member, Delaware County Republican Committee; elected as a Republican to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1939 term; appointed, Committee to Study Unemployment Compensation Provisions (1939-1940); unsuccessful campaign for reelection to the House for the 1941 term; elected, solicitor, city of Chester (1945-1949); appointed (1949-1950) and elected, register of wills and clerk of the Orphans Court, Delaware County (1950-1958); elected, judge, Pennsylvania Court of Common Pleas, Philadelphia County (1960-1967); died, May 9, 1967 in Derry, County Londonderry, Northern Ireland; interred, Saints Peter and Paul Cemetery, Springfield, Delaware County, Pennsylvania.
