CLAPPER, Robert Raymond, a Representative from Bedford County; born, Bellwood, Blair County, Pa., September 29, 1907; graduated, Saxton High School, 1928; graduated, Millersville State Teachers College (now Millersville University of Pennsylvania), 1932; attended, Juniata College; attended, St. Mary’s University, Tx.; served, Air Corps, United States Army (1944-1945, World War II); school teacher; principal, Saxton Borough School (1934-1949); elected, justice of the peace, Saxton borough (1936-1942); Republican Committeeman (3 terms); elected to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives as a Republican in 1948, 1950 and 1952; not a candidate for reelection to the House (1954); investigator, Pennsylvania Department of Health; died, October 5, 2004 in Altoona, Blair County, Pennsylvania; interred, Russellville Reformed Cemetery, James Creek, Huntingdon County, Pennsylvania.
