CASSIDY, Joseph B., a Representative from Philadelphia County; born, January 1, 1888 in Philadelphia, Philadelphia County, Pa.; graduated, Roman Catholic High School; recording clerk, Philadelphia (1929-1933); deputy delinquent tax collector, Philadelphia (1933-1948); secretary and chair, 36th Ward Republican Executive Committee; elected as a Republican to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives in a Special Election, September 14, 1943 to serve the remaining 1943 term; reelected to the House for the 1947 term; unsuccessful campaign for reelection to the House (1944, 1948, 1950, 1952).
