CAMPBELL, Peter Joseph, a Representative from Philadelphia County; born, May 30, 1876 in Philadelphia, Philadelphia County, Pa.; contracting painter; president, Girard Homestead Building and Loan Association (20 years); director, Simon Building and Loan Association (18 years); director, American-Snyder Building and Loan Association (15 years); treasurer, 48th Ward Republican Club; elected as a Republican to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives in 1942; unsuccessful campaign for reelection to the House (1944); reelected to the House in 1946; died prior to taking the oath, December 10, 1946 in Philadelphia, Philadelphia County, Pennsylvania; interred, Holy Cross Cemetery, Yeadon, Delaware County, Pennsylvania.
