BRICE, James C., a Representative from Lawrence County; born, July 7, 1888 in Highland, Luzerne County, Pa.; attended, St. Bonaventure Preparatory School and College, NY; attended, Jefferson Medical College (now Sidney Kimmel Medical College), (2 years); served, Medical Corps, American Expeditionary Force, United States Army (1918-1919, World War I); inspector, Pennsylvania State Highway Department; elected, alderman, 1st Ward, New Castle (over 25 years); elected to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives as a Republican in 1942; reelected to the House for 3 more consecutive terms; appointed, Joint State Government Sub-committee on Unemployment Compensation (1945-1946); appointed, Joint Legislative Committee on Alcoholism (1947-1948); not a candidate for reelection to the House (1950); died, January 4, 1964 in New Castle, Lawrence County, Pennsylvania; interred, St. Mary’s Cemetery, New Castle, Lawrence County, Pennsylvania.
