BRANCATO WOOD, Anna M., a Representative from Philadelphia County; born, January 17, 1903 in Philadelphia, Philadelphia County, Pa.; graduated, Academy of the Sisters of Mercy; attended, Banks Business College; attended, Temple University; newspaper advertising manager, Spector; photographer's assistant; chair, Women’s Democratic Club of South Philadelphia; president, Young Women’s Democratic Club of Philadelphia;  elected as a Democrat to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives to the 1933 term; reelected to serve 4 more nonconsecutive terms, 1935, 1937, 1939 and 1945; appointed, Joint Legislative Committee to Investigate Governmental Costs of Philadelphia (1937-1938); not a candidate for reelection to the House (1940); real estate broker; owner, telephone answering service; unsuccessful campaign, Pennsylvania State Senate (1956); Assistant Secretary of the House, Pennsylvania House of Representatives (1969-1972); died, August 22, 1972 in Lower Merion, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania; interred, Holy Cross Cemetery, Yeadon, Delaware County, Pennsylvania.
