BOYER, Dr. Samuel Peter, a Representative from Cambria County; born, August 30, 1881 in Stonycreek Township, Somerset County, Pa.; attended, Southwestern Normal School (now Pennsylvania Western University, California); B.S., Ohio Northern University; M.D., University of Pittsburgh; first lieutenant, Medical Corps, United States Army (World War I); teacher; physician; magazine article author; elected to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives as a Republican in 1934 and 1936; unsuccessful campaign for reelection to the House (1938); died, June 10, 1958 in Brooksville, Hernando County, Florida; interred, Boyer Cemetery, Stonycreek Township, Somerset County, Pennsylvania.
