BONAWITZ, William Henry, a Representative from Dauphin County; born in Rife, Dauphin County, Pa., September 3, 1880; attended, Berrysburg Seminary; teacher (45 years); farmer; secretary, Berrysburg Borough (10 years); elected as a Republican to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives by Special Election, May 19, 1942; Sworn-In August 4, 1942 to serve the remaining 1941 term; reelected for 3 consecutive terms thereafter; not a candidate for reelection to the House (1948); died in December of 1963 in Dauphin County, Pennsylvania; interred, Saint Peter’s Cemetery, Lykens, Dauphin County, Pennsylvania.
