ALSPACH, Alfred Charles, a Representative from Lancaster County; born in Chambersburg, Franklin County, Pa., February 9, 1912; graduated, Lancaster High School; A.B., Ursinus College, 1933; LL.B., University of Pennsylvania Law School, 1936; lieutenant commander, legal officer, Office of Inspector of Naval Materials, United States Naval Reserves (1944-1946, World War II); lawyer; co-founder, Boys and Girls Club of Lancaster (1939), secretary (1939-1976), president and board chair (1977-2002); elected as a Republican to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1939 term and reelected to serve the 1943 term; unsuccessful campaign for reelection to the House for the 1941 term; not a candidate for reelection to the House for the 1945 term; Assistant District Attorney, Lancaster County (1952-1959); elected, District Attorney, Lancaster County (1960-1964); publisher, Quarryville Sun and Christiana Ledger; died, September 19, 2002 in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania.
