ALLEN, Charles W., a Representative from Bedford County; born, October 10, 1893 in the borough of Bedford, Bedford County, Pa.; graduated, Bedford High School; graduated, Pennsylvania Business College, Lancaster; served, First Army Corps, No. 281 Aero Squadron, United States Army (World War I); proprietor, Washington Bakery (1916-1952); elected, vice-president, Bedford County Board of Education (1933-1935); elected as a Democrat to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives in 1934 and 1936; not a candidate for reelection to the House in the 1938 General election; postmaster, Bedford County (1942-1965); died, January 23, 1975 in Florida; interred, Bedford Cemetery, Bedford, Bedford County, Pennsylvania.
