THOMPSON, Ronald L., a Representative from Allegheny County; born, August 19, 1899 in Shamokin, Northumberland County, Pa.; attended, University of Pittsburgh Evening School; served, 107th Field Artillery, 28th Division, American Expeditionary Forces, United States Army (World War I); lieutenant colonel, 716th Training Group, Army Air Force Training Command, United States Army (1942-1944, World War II); sales representative, Penn General Supply Company, Pittsburgh; township supervisor, Mt. Lebanon (1932-1940); member, Allegheny County Republican Executive Committee; proprietor, Vernon Gold and Silver Refining Co.; elected as a Republican to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives to the 1941 term; reelected to the House to the 1949 term and served 8 consecutive terms thereafter; appointed, Legislative Budget and Finance Committee (1961-1964); not a candidate for reelection to the House (1942, 1966); died, June 19, 1986 in Clearwater, Pinellas County, Florida; interred, Mt. Lebanon Cemetery, Pittsburgh, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania.
