STEWART, John, Jr., a Representative from Philadelphia County; born, April 7, 1922 in Philadelphia, Philadelphia County, Pa.; B.S., University of Pennsylvania, 1947; LL.B., Temple University Law School, 1950; served, "U.S.S. Laub," "U.S.S. Ringgold," United States Navy (1943-1946, World War II); lawyer; partner, Raspin, Espenshade, Heins, Erskine, and Stewart; elected as a Republican to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1959 term; unsuccessful campaign for reelection to the House for the 1961 term; died, June 22, 1997.
