READINGER, Albert S., a Representative from Berks County; born in Reading, Berks County, Pa., August 15, 1908; graduated, Reading High School; A.B., Lafayette College, 1930; LL.B, University of Pennsylvania Law School, 1933; attorney; elected as a Democrat to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1937 term (Sworn-In on December 1, 1936); reelected to 10 consecutive terms thereafter; elected, Majority Floor Leader (1955-1956); elected, Minority Floor Leader (1957); appointed, Joint State Government Commission (1941-1957; Sub-committee on Decedents Estate Laws, 1945-1946; Committee on Alcoholism, 1947-1948; Committee on Penal Laws, 1947-1948); appointed, Bipartisan Tax Study Committee (1952-1953); appointed, Commission on Interstate Cooperation (1955-1957); resigned from the House, December 31, 1957; elected, delegate, Democratic National Convention (1956); elected, judge, Pennsylvania Court of Common Pleas, Berks County (1958-1968); died, April 21, 1968 in Reading, Berks County, Pennsylvania; interred, Charles Evans Cemetery, Reading, Berks County, Pennsylvania.
