PURSLEY, Louis A., a Representative from Union County; born in Hartley Township, Union County, Pa., April 23, 1897; graduated, Lewisburg High School; B.S., Bloomsburg State Normal School (now Commonwealth University of Pennsylvania); M.A., Bucknell University; served, United States Navy (World War I); high school teacher; high school principal; insurance salesman; elected as a Republican to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives to the 1955 term and served 3 more consecutive terms; not a candidate for reelection to the House for the 1963 term; died, August 29, 1964 in Lewisburg, Union County, Pennsylvania; interred, Lewisburg Cemetery, Lewisburg, Union County, Pennsylvania.
