MURRAY, Erwin L., a Representative from Cameron County; born in Emporium, Cameron County, Pa., July 15, 1920; graduated, Emporium High School; staff sergeant, Air Corps, United States Army (World War II); director, Emporium Civil Defense; owner and operator, Murray’s Service (25 years); chair, Cameron County Democratic Committee (1958-1962); elected as a Democrat to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1963 and 1965 terms; not a candidate for reelection to the House for the 1967 term; unsuccessful candidate, Governor of Pennsylvania (1966); unsuccessful candidate, Pennsylvania State Senate (1970); died, January 18, 1985; interred, Newton Cemetery, Emporium, Cameron County, Pennsylvania.
