MUNLEY, Marion L., a Representative from Lackawanna County; born in Buffalo, Erie County, NY, August 19, 1906; graduated, St. John’s High School; graduated, Marywood College (now Marywood University); graduated, The Powell School of Business, Scranton; president, 20th Ward Democratic Women’s Club; member, Young Democrats of Lackawanna County; member, Blakely Democratic Club; member, Jermyn Democratic Club; member, Women’s Democratic Club of Mayfield; elected as a Democrat to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives in a Special Election, September 9, 1947; Sworn-In, October 14, 1947 to serve the remaining 1947 term; reelected to serve 8 consecutive terms thereafter; elected, Minority Caucus Secretary (1963-1964); appointed, Commission on Interstate Cooperation (1961-1962); not a candidate for reelection to the House (1964); Secretary, Pennsylvania House of Representatives (1965-1966); died, September 14, 1983 in Archbald, Lackawanna County, Pennsylvania; interred, St. Thomas Aquinas Cemetery, Archbald, Lackawanna County, Pennsylvania.
