McDONALD, John J., a Representative from Schuylkill County; born in Girardville, Schuylkill County, Pa., February 29, 1908; independent coal operator; owner, McDonald’s Restaurant, Girardville; chair, Democratic Party of Girardville; elected as a Democrat to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives to serve the 1959 and 1961 terms; unsuccessful campaign for reelection to the House for the 1963 term; died, November 2, 1978 in Ashland, Schuylkill County, Pennsylvania; interred, Saint Joseph’s Cemetery, Fountain Springs, Schuylkill County, Pennsylvania.
