LONG, William James, "Billy," a Representative from Fayette County; born, April 28, 1893 in Brownsville, Fayette County, Pa.; attended, Brownsville Schools; attended, Bellefonte Academy; engaged in coal business; elected, council and burgess, Brownsville (12 years); detective, Fayette County (16 years); superintendent of buildings, Fayette County Court House; member, secretary and executive committee, Fayette County Democratic Committee (18 years); elected to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives as a Democrat in 1960; served 2 consecutive terms; not a candidate for reelection to the House (1964); died. March 12, 1972 in Brownsville, Fayette County, Pennsylvania; interred, Redstone Cemetery, Brownsville, Fayette County, Pennsylvania.
