LIGHT, John Henry, a Representative from Lebanon County; born in Campbelltown, Lebanon County, Pa., May 4, 1890; attended, Annville Normal School; attended, West Chester Normal School (now West Chester University of Pennsylvania); public school teacher (8 years); farmer; registry assessor, Lebanon County; justice of the peace; deputy register of wills, Lebanon County; elected, commissioner, Lebanon County (1924-1928); editor, Grange News (10 years), Pennsylvania State Grange (25 years, secretary, 13 years); appointed, Pennsylvania Farm Show Commission (1929-1935); director, Pennsylvania Farm Show (1931-1935); member, Lebanon County Republican Committee; gubernatorial appointee, Secretary, Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture (1939-1943); elected as a Republican to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1951 term and reelected to serve 4 consecutive terms thereafter; not a candidate for reelection to the House for the 1961 term; died, September 30, 1973 in Lebanon, Lebanon County, Pennsylvania; interred, Gravel Hill Cemetery, Palmyra, Lebanon County, Pennsylvania.
