LEONARD, Louis, a Representative from Allegheny County; born, April 22, 1880 in Belgium; steel worker (22 years); International Secretary-Treasurer, Amalgamated Association of Iron, Steel and Tin Workers of North America (1919-1942); elected to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives as a Democrat to serve the 1941, 1943 and 1945 terms; appointed, Joint State Government Commission, Sub-Committee on Child Welfare Laws, Juvenile Delinquency and Institutions (1945-1946); unsuccessful campaign for reelection to the House for the 1947 term; reelected to the House for the 1949 term; reelected to serve 8 more consecutive terms thereafter; not a candidate for reelection to the House (1966); died, December 26, 1969; interred, St. Martin’s Cemetery, Pittsburgh, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania.
