KORNICK, Nicholas, a Representative from Fayette County; born, December 15, 1912 in Vanderbilt, Fayette County, Pa.; attended, Franklin Township schools; attended, The Pennsylvania State (University) College; coal loader and fire boss; checkweighman, United Mine Workers and Coal Company (6 years); scale inspector, Commonwealth of Pennsylvania; Fayette County Democrat Committeeman (2 years); justice of the peace, Franklin Township (1 term); coal mine inspector, Pennsylvania Threshermen and Farmers Mutual Casualty Insurance Company (6 years); elected to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives a Democrat in 1950; reelected to serve 7 more consecutive terms; appointed, Local Government Commission (1961-1962, 1965-1966); not a candidate for reelection to the House (1966); died, August 29, 1988; interred, Mount Saint Macrina Cemetery, Uniontown, Fayette County, Pennsylvania.
