Edgar, a Representative from Schuylkill County; born in Cocalico Township, Lancaster County, Pa., October 29, 1880; graduated, Pottsville High School; insurance agent; elected as a Republican to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives in 1936; reelected to serve 9 consecutive terms thereafter; appointed, Joint State Government Commission Sub-Committee on Municipal Authorities (1945-1946); appointed, Joint Legislative Committee on Group Insurance (1947-1948); not a candidate for reelection to the House (1956); died, January 11, 1960 in Pottsville, Schuylkill County, Pennsylvania; interred at Bowmans Cemetery, Ephrata, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania.
