KENT, Robert Free, a Representative from Crawford County; born in Meadville, Crawford County, Pa., June 26, 1911; A.B., Allegheny College; LL.B., University of Pennsylvania Law School; captain, "U.S.S. Menard" (1945), "U.S.S. Roi" (1946), United States Marine Corps Reserves (1944-1946, World War II); attorney; member, Republican Executive Committee of Crawford County; chair, Crawford County Republican Party (1953); elected as a Republican to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1947 term and reelected for 4 consecutive terms thereafter; appointed, chair, Joint Legislative Committee on Tax-Exempt Real Property (1947-1948); appointed, Commission on Interstate Cooperation (1953-1954); appointed, Joint State Government Commission (1955-1956); not a candidate for reelection to the House (1956); elected, Pennsylvania State Treasurer (1957-61); unsuccessful campaign,  Pennsylvania Auditor General (1960); died, October 1, 1982; interred, Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville, Lebanon County, Pennsylvania.
