KAMYK, Walter T., a Representative from Allegheny County; born, Pittsburgh, Allegheny County, Pa. on January 18, 1913; attended, Duquesne Preparatory School; A.B., Duquesne University, 1936; staff sergeant, United States Army (1942-1945, World War II; Ribbon of Commendation recipient); auditor; elected, constable, 9th Ward, Pittsburgh (1939-1946); elected to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives as a Democrat in 1948; reelected and served 7 more consecutive terms; resigned from the House, September 10, 1963; appointed, council, Pittsburgh (1963); elected, council, Pittsburgh (1964-1966; 1969-1976); died, October 26, 1979 in Pittsburgh, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania; interred, St. Stanislaus Cemetery, Etna, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania.
