HOLLIDAY, Joseph R., a Representative from Blair County; born, November 19, 1885 in Carnegie, Allegheny County, Pa.; attended, Verona High School; graduated, Mercersburg Academy; graduated, Western University of Pittsburgh (now University of Pittsburgh); major, transportation corps, United States Army (1942-1945, World War II); organizer and president, Holliday Coal Company; elected to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives as a Republican in a Special Election, November 5, 1957 to serve the remaining 1957 term; Sworn-In, December 6, 1957 and reelected to the House in 1958 and 1960; unsuccessful campaigns for reelection to the House (1962, 1964); died, August 10, 1979 in Altoona, Blair County, Pennsylvania.
