HARRIS, J. Mervyn, a Representative from Delaware County; born in Johnstown, Cambria County, Pa., October 28, 1933; graduated, Nether Providence High School, 1952; B.S., Pennsylvania Military College (now Widener University); second lieutenant, United States Army; captain, United States Army Reserves; elected, committee, Nether Providence Township; chair, Republican Executive Committee, Nether Providence Township; appointed, judge of elections, Nether Providence; admissions counselor, Pennsylvania Military College; elected as a Republican to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives in 1964; not a candidate for reelection to the House (1966); lobbyist, Southeastern Pennsylvania Transit Authority (SEPTA); died, April of 2021 in Nether Providence, Delaware County, Pennsylvania.
