GIBSON, Allen Moore, a Representative from Warren County; born in Kane, McKean County, Pa., September 25, 1898; graduated, Sheffield High School, 1917; attended, The Pennsylvania State (University) College; attended, University of Pittsburgh; attended, United States Infantry Officers’ Training Corps (World War I); chair, Warren County Council of Defense (1941-1945); manager, Independent Telephone Company; oil producer; elected, treasurer, Warren County; elected as a Republican to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1945 term; reelected to serve 7 consecutive terms thereafter; elected, Minority Whip (1959); appointed, Joint Legislative Committee on Industrial Development and Expansion (1947-1948); appointed, Joint State Government Commission (1955-1958); appointed, Commission on Interstate Cooperation (1957-1958); died while in office, May 25, 1959 in Harrisburg, Dauphin County, Pennsylvania; interred, Sheffield Cemetery, Sheffield, Warren County, Pennsylvania.
