GEORGE, Arthur, a Representative from Cumberland County; born in Carlisle, Cumberland County, Pa., January 22, 1909; graduated, Carlisle High School; corporal, United States Army (Purple Heart, Bronze Star and 5 Battle Stars recipient); florist; elected as a Republican to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives to the 1949 term; not a candidate for reelection to the House for the 1951 and 1953 terms; reelected to the House for the 1955, 1957, 1959 and 1961 terms; died while in office, September 24, 1962, in Carlisle, Cumberland County, Pennsylvania; interred, Ashland Cemetery, Carlisle, Cumberland County, Pennsylvania.
