EWING, Edwin C., a Representative from Allegheny County; born in Coraopolis, Allegheny County, Pa., November 26, 1902; attended, Petroleum Engineering School, Cincinnati; served, United States Army, 103rd Medical Unit (3 years); lubricating and sales engineer, oil business (36 years); elected as a Republican to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives to the 1939 term and served 1 term; unsuccessful campaign for reelection to the House (1940); reelected to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1943 term and served 10 consecutive terms thereafter; appointed, Joint State Government Commission (1939-1940; 1945-1946, Sub-Committee on Strip Mining); appointed, Joint Legislative Committee on State-Local Highway Financing (1947-1948); appointed, Commission on Interstate Cooperation (1963-1964); not a candidate for reelection to the House (1964); elected, Pennsylvania State Senate (1965-1967); died while in office of Senate, May 3, 1967 in Pittsburgh, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania; interred, Mt. Lebanon Cemetery, Mt. Lebanon, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania.
