DAVIS, James Kepler, a Representative from Forest County; born in Tionesta, Forest County, Pa., June 12, 1894; graduated, United States Naval Academy, 1916; rear admiral, "U.S.S. Chateau Thierry" (1941-1942), "U.S.S. Leon" (1944-1945), "U.S.S. Appalachian" (1945), "U.S.S. Rockbridge" (1945), "U.S.S. Montour" (1945), United States Navy (1916-1947, World War I and World War II; Bronze Star recipient); publisher, Tionesta Forest Press; engaged in real estate and insurance; contributor, The Derrick, Oil City; elected as a Republican to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1951 term; reelected to serve 7 consecutive terms thereafter; appointed, Local Government Commission (1963-1964); not a candidate for reelection to the House (1966); died, December 6, 1990 in Oil City, Venango County, Pennsylvania; interred, Riverside Cemetery, Tionesta, Forest County, Pennsylvania.
