BOWER, Adam Theodore, a Representative from Northumberland County; born in Sunbury, Northumberland County, Pa., February 11, 1905; graduated, Sunbury High School; elected as a Republican to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives to the 1939 term and served 13 more consecutive terms; elected, Minority Caucus Chair (1965-1966); appointed, Joint State Government Commission (1945-1956, 1965-1966; Sub-Committee on Strip Mining, 1945-1946; Sub-Committee on Personnel of the House of Representatives, 1945-1946; chair, Sub-Committee on Labor Laws, 1947-1948); appointed, State Highway and Bridge Authority Commission (1949-1952); unsuccessful campaign for reelection to the House (1966); elected, Chief Clerk, Pennsylvania House of Representatives (1967-1968); director of convention services, Pennsylvania’s Constitutional Convention (1967-1968); died, May 3, 1974 in Danville, Montour County, Pennsylvania; interred, Northumberland Memorial Park, Stonington, Northumberland County, Pennsylvania.
