AUKER, Charles A., a Representative from Blair County; born, January 10, 1899 in Mifflintown, Juniata County, Pa.; graduated, Mifflintown High School, 1916; A.B., Dickinson College, 1920; LL.B., Dickinson College School of Law (now Penn State Dickinson Law), 1925; private, Dickinson College Training Camp, United States Army (World War I): instructor, Carlisle Military Academy; business manager, Dickinsonian; lawyer; elected to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives as a Republican in 1938; reelected to the House for 8 more nonconsecutive terms in 1940, 1942, 1952, 1954, 1956, 1958, 1960 and 1962; not a candidate for reelection to the House (1944); unsuccessful campaigns for reelection to the House (1946, 1948, 1950, 1964); died, January 11, 1981 in Altoona, Blair County, Pennsylvania; interred, Alto Reste Park Mausoleum, Altoona, Blair County, Pennsylvania.
