(1988-1992); supervisor, Tredyffrin Township (1987-1992); elected as a Republican to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1993 term; reelected to the House for 7 consecutive terms thereafter; appointed, PennVEST (1993-2008); appointed, Select Committee on Public Education Funding (2001-2002); appointed, Select Committee on Influenza Vaccine (2006); appointed, Speaker's Commission on Legislative Reform (2007); not a candidate for reelection to the House for the 2009 term.
