ADAMS, Richard Livingston, a Representative from Berks County; born in Maidencreek Township, Berks County, Pa., January 14, 1916; graduated, Muhlenberg Township High School, 1934; served, "U.S.S. Mississinewa," United States Navy (1944-1945, World War II); employed, Parrish Pressed Steel Co.; owner, Adams Real Estate and Insurance (25 years); elected, council, Laureldale Borough (1951-1955); elected as a Republican to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1957 and 1961 terms; unsuccessful campaigns for reelection to the House (1958, 1962, 1964); gubernatorial appointee, magistrate, District Court, Muhlenberg, Berks County (1970); unsuccessful Democratic campaign for reelection to the House (1972); unsuccessful Republican candidate, commissioner, Berks County (1975); unsuccessful campaign, magistrate, Berks County (1977); died, March 15, 1983 in Laureldale, Berks County, Pennsylvania; interred, St. John's Church Cemetery, Leesport, Berks County, Pennsylvania.
